Personality Description:
Lyla is a true idealist, always looking for the hint of good in even the worst of people and events, searching for ways to make things better. While she may be perceived as calm, reserved, or even shy, Lyla has an inner flame and passion that can truly shine. The risk of feeling misunderstood is unfortunately high for her, but when she finds like-minded people to spend her time with, the harmony she feels will be a fountain of joy and inspiration.
Lyla is guided by her principles, rather than by logic, excitement, or practicality. When deciding how to move forward, she will look to honor, beauty, morality and virtue, led by the purity of her intent, not rewards and punishments. Unfortunately not everyone understands the drive behind these feelings, and it can lead to Lyla's feeling of isolation.
At her best, these qualities enable Lyla to communicate deeply with others, easily speaking in metaphors and parables, and understanding and creating symbols to share her ideas. Understanding herself and her place in the world is important to Lyla, and she explores these ideas by projecting herself into her work. Her gift for communication also lends itself well to Lyla's desire for harmony, a recurring theme with her.
Unlike her mother though, Lyla will focus her attention on just a few people, a single worthy cause – spread too thinly, she’ll run out of energy, and even become dejected and overwhelmed by all the bad in the world that she can’t fix. This is a sad sight for Lyla's friends, who will come to depend on her rosy outlook.
Few people are as poetic and kind-hearted as Lyla. Her altruism and vivid imagination allows her to overcome many challenging obstacles, more often than not brightening the lives of those around her. Her creativity is invaluable in many areas, including her own personal growth.
Yet she can be easily tripped up in areas where idealism and altruism are more of a liability than an asset. Whether it is finding (or keeping) a relationship, making friends, reaching dazzling heights on the career ladder or planning for the future, Lyla needs to put in a conscious effort to develop her weaker traits and additional skills.
If they are not careful, Lyla can lose herself in her quest for good and neglect the day-to-day upkeep that life demands. She often drifts into deep thought, enjoying contemplating the hypothetical and the philosophical more than others. Left unchecked, Lyla may start to lose touch, withdrawing into "hermit mode", and it can take a great deal of energy from her friends and family to bring her back to the real world.
Luckily, like the flowers in spring, Lyla's affection, creativity, altruism and idealism will always come back, rewarding her and those she loves perhaps not with logic and utility, but with a world view that inspires compassion, kindness and beauty wherever she goes.

Strengths:
♦ Idealistic - Lyla's friends and loved ones will come to admire and depend on her for her optimism. Lyla's unshaken belief that all people are inherently good, perhaps simply misunderstood, lends itself to an incredibly resilient attitude in the face of hardship. ⟡ Seeks and Values Harmony - She has no interest in having power over others, and doesn't much care for domineering attitudes at all. She prefers a more democratic approach, and work hard to ensure that every voice and perspective is heard. ♦ Passionate and Energetic - When something captures Lyla's imagination and speaks to her beliefs, she goes all in, dedicating her time, energy, thoughts and emotions to the project. Her shyness keeps her from the podium, but she is the first to lend a helping hand where it’s needed. ⟡ Dedicated and Hard-Working – While others focusing on the challenges of the moment may give up when the going gets tough, Lyla has the benefit of her far-reaching vision to help her through. Knowing that what she is doing is meaningful gives her a sense of purpose and even courage when it comes to accomplishing something she believes in. |
Weaknesses:
♦ Too Altruistic - Lyla sometimes sees herself as selfish, but only because she wants to give so much more than she is able to. This becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy, as she tries to push herself to commit to a chosen cause or person, forgetting to take care of the needs of others in her life and especially herself. ⟡ Takes Things Personally - Lyla often takes challenges and criticisms personally, rather than as inspiration to reassess her positions. Avoiding conflict as much as possible, Lyla will put a great deal of time and energy into trying to align her principles and the criticisms into a middle ground that satisfies everybody. ♦ Difficult to Get to Know - Lyla is a very private, reserved and self-conscious person. This makes her notoriously difficult to really get to know, and her need for these qualities contributes to the guilt she often feels for not giving more of herself to those she cares about. ⟡ Too Idealistic - She often takes her idealism too far, setting herself up for disappointment as, again and again, evil things happen in the world. This is true on a personal level too, as Lyla may not just idealize her friends, but idolize them, forgetting that no one is perfect. |

History
Lyla is a complex Hidden, born Henry; to a warlock of the sun; and Claire; a mermaid of the moon, who feel in love A victim of circumstances, her parents say. Yet, Lyla was the light of her parents life.
At first, Lyla showed no signs of magic. Claire and Henry thought that she didn't have any, and they panicked because kids wihtout magic who grow up in a magical world are not treated the same. Claire bargans her tail to a powerful witch in New Orleans named La Dame De La Rue, who promises that she can give the baby magic. But La Dame wasn't only just going to give the child magic, she was going to bind Lyla to her own magic, something Claire and Henry didn't know about. So they flashed Lyla and them out of there and back to safety, but La Dame needs to complete the spell, and has been always keeping an eye on the family to find a good time to strike and finish the binding ritual. What Claie and Henry didn’t know was that Lyla did have some sort of magic.Due to being half bonded to La Dame and her make-shift circle, Lyla had developed the power of Non-Senescence, something the Circle nicknamed Jellyfish Syndrome. The Circle wanted to find out about Lyla’s non-senescence because she was the second known person in a long time to develop this ability, something they claimed was nearly impossible to develop. They only know of records of one-other person with this ability, but with Lyla right at their grasps, it made sense of the Circle to study her instead of track down the other person. Claire and Henry told the Circle they were not allowed to study Lyla because they didn’t want her to become a science experiment for their leisure. The Circle respected this decision, but unfortunately they were not the only ones aware of Lyla’s unique power. Thantos Group also heard about this child of the moon and sun, and sought after her to find out how to harness her power to make all humans and hidden immortal the way she was. When her mother, Claire, died when Lyla was 4 years old from events unknown, her father, Henry promised to protect her at all costs from La Dame and Thantos. He moved Lyla into a home with Lyla’s aunt, but because it wasn’t enough. Trying to protect 4 year old Lyla, Henry died at the hands of Thantos, and Lyla was left to the custody of her aunt. The time here was joyful and fun as Lyla grew up with her aunt and her uncle. Her aunt and uncle did all they could to keep her out of the hidden school system. When her aunt had twins when Lyla was 12, Lyla’s family was put in danger once again. The twins were locked in the upstairs nursery when the house shook in an earthquake. Lyla went into the house to get her aunt and the twins out of the house, but she got terminally hurt. This sparked her first metamorphosis. Lyla went from a smart and beautiful 12 year old into an infant and began her life journey once again, keeping the memories about her first 12 years. This time growing up with her twin cousins, her aunt decided that it would be best for all the children to go to a hidden school, as they all would be safer there then here. So when Lyla turned 5 once again, she and her cousins were assigned to Lewis Park Hidden School. She grew up with her cousins, who served as her protectors, and was happy there for the time being. At the school, Lyla and a classmate Elora, got into a tremendous fight. Elora would constantly mock Lyla for her lack of magic ability and lack of a true family. Lyla got so mad at everyone at that time that she decided to run away, but this emotional distress sparked her second metamorphosis, this time from 10 years old to 6 years old. Lyla again still regained her memories from her last change, but didn’t understand what they meant until she grew up once more to 10 years old. She needed to find a way to control her metamorphous if she could. Her aunt gave her the power bound rings her parents wore. Lyla then wore them on a chain around her neck as a remembrance that her parents are always with her. Her aunt told her the story about her parents and how they meet. It was what she considered “the Golden Age” of her parents time. Because the rings contain the powers of both her parents, it was able control Lyla’s metamorphous and it also gave Lyla the complete powers of both a witch and a mermaid. Lyla took this as a symbol of her own individual power. When the door appeared to Lyla she had this feeling to go through and travel through it. And the door brought her back in time to her mother and father in their “Golden Age” at Venefica. She followed them around and eventually was caught, when young Claire asked why she was there. She lied and said that she was told that her mentor was Claire. Claire thought nothing of it, as she always wanted to be a mentor for someone. Lyla interacted with her mother and father when they were 15 years old in Venefica Academy of Magic Arts. When Claire’s friend Abelle, questioned the rings around Lyla’s neck, Lyla panicked and Abelle thought that she stole them from Claire and Henry. When Claire and Henry said that couldn’t be true because their rings were still on their hands, Lyla had to confess. Yet, Lyla only told her parents half the story, the fact that she had the power of non senseence and that she would never really get to grow up to see her parents. Claire got really sad and instead took Lyla under her wing and trained her for what was about a year in Venefica. When a nightmare began to attack Venefica, Lyla sacrificed herself to save her young parents and placed a forgeting curse on herself so that no one would remember her when she left their sight. After returning through the door to her own time, Lyla metamorphazied once more, as she grew up with all her previous memories, she decided that she was going to get her parents back, but because her powers were under devloped she turned to see La Dame once more. La Dame was not surprised by Lyla's decision. She offered her a deal that would grant her full power to reserect the dead, if she allowed La Dame to finish the binding ritual so she could be a part of her "secret circle". La Dame agrees that if Lyla could find a powersource as a replacement for herself, La Dame would unbind her and let her live a life with her parents. Lyla takes on this challenge, as her parents mean the world to her, but the powerful witch La Dame wants to bind to instead of Lyla, is non other than Abelle Quire, her mother's best friend, and her "Aunt" Lyla travels through another door, this time to when she was 3 and was in hiding from La Dame. She finds Abelle in Venefica as an assistant teacher, but gets side tracked into helping Theta Rory, a love struck student, find a way to cure her best friend and secret crush, Chase Parker, from his newly found vampirism. As she takes on this quest, she realizes everything is not as it seems in the school. Venefica is plagued by a mysterious teacher, Ms. Opek, who’s magical abilities and sly words remind her for someone she knows all too well, La Dame de La Rue. She tries to warn Abelle, the other staff, and the students of Venefica that this witch is on their tail, in hopes that stopping her now in time would somehow be able to stop her parents from their untimely demise. It works a bit too well, and Lyla’s actions cause herself, Nick Quire and several of Opek’s bounded children to cast a spell so powerful it would banish Opek (La Dame) for good. Lyla returns back to her own time, where she finds out that her efforts did not yield anything new. Claire and Henry were destined to life a life without Lyla. It was a fixed point in time. Heartbroken, Lyla tries to unbind herself from the “Secret Siblings”, but to no avail. She and her “siblings” are stuck to be bond together and live a life of non-senescence. After the Circle deems the “Secret Siblings” as a threat to the Hidden Society, Amanda Carmine recommends Lyla to be the speaker for the “Secret Siblings” in Circle Meetings. She is soon elected by her “soul siblings” to be so. After a few months of constant sadness. Lyla goes back in time to see her parents one last time. After seeing “Claire” walk by in hand with “Henry” one day abroad. She understands what she needs to do now. She visits them at the time when she is 4 years old, on the day the mysterious girl (Amanda) watches her play in the park. She uses the powers of the Secret Siblings to meet Claire and Henry in a place unknown to them in La Masion des Possibilities. She tells them of her story then erases their memories of the girl, so that they can be safe from the future LaDame gives them. She fakes her parent’s death and gives them a life free from worry, free from the burden of knowing the magical world, and free from the memory of their daughter. Claire and Henry can live their lives out to the fullest and happiest, in a life that was destined to be without Lyla. |

Lyla: "What I never understood till now is why I've been afraid of my mom."
Lyla: "It took them a while to realize that time travel was really time and dimensional travel and by that point it was
too late to find their way home again."
Lyla: "And the words tumbled from her mouth like water from a waterfall, and everything was beautiful, secret, and
strangely forbidden."
Lyla: "Life is chemistry. It sounds complicated, or like something you might hear from a middle school science teacher,
but it’s true nonetheless. We’re not talking chemistry like you would learn in a lab. Life is the chemistry between
people. Sometimes it is volatile, violent and intense, leaving nothing but destruction and chaos in its wake.
Sometimes it is bliss. Calm and peaceful, a true union between two souls that combine to create something more.
It cannot be predicted. It cannot be synthesized and recreated. What it is undeniable. Life is the interactions
between people, and each moment in time creates a change in who you are and what you will become."
Lyla: "Being sneaky isn't nearly as easy as it looks on TV, and the tiptoeing makes your toes cramp"
